2009 Opening Letter

To:  All Members of Dwight Country Club

Re:  Schedule of Events

Welcome to the 2009 Golf Season.  Enclosed please find a tentative Schedule of Events for the 2009 Season.  The Men’s and Women’s Leagues begin the last week of April so please call or stop by the Club so we can verify your team’s participation.  Remember Men’s League is limited to members, while Women’s League is open to both members and nonmembers.

For our Women Golfers we will have a League organizational meeting on Monday April 6th at 5:30 p.m.  At this meeting we want to finalize League participants and discuss any changes for the League.  In addition, there will be FREE Women’s golf instruction on April 14th, 21st and 27th.  This instruction is very informal and Joe will try to help anyone who is interested-member or nonmember.  In addition, NEW for this year, you will find Women’s Opening and Closing Scrambles and a Dwight Country Club Match Play Tournament scheduled for this year.

Men’s League will begin on Wednesday April 29th.  Again this year you will be allowed to play your match with only one team participant.  FREE Men’s instruction will be held on April 8th, 15th and 22nd at 5:30 p.m.  Please bring your friends, even beginners.

We again will have a full schedule of Men’s Golf Events highlighted by the Member’s Cup.  If you play in a Member’s event you will receive participation points that accumulate throughout the year.  If you accumulate half the points you will receive a gift certificate for your participation.  If you did not get your certificates for the last two years please get with Joe so you can get your credit to either the Clubhouse or Pro Shop.  You will notice a Men’s Horserace has been scheduled for July 3rd along with a Parent Child Tournament on July 26th.

Like every year, several outside outings have been scheduled-please call if you have questions about course availability.  Even if there is something scheduled you still may be able to play so please give us a call.

This is going to be a very trying economical year for everyone including YOUR Club.  Member’s Clubhouse support is essential to the continued success and affordability of Dwight Country Club.  Dwight Country Club is OWNED by each and every one of you and we hope when planning a party or just a dinner out that you choose DCC.  A new 65 inch High Definition TV, courtesy of The Wild Bunch, and a popcorn popper have been added to the bar area for your enjoyment.  Remember, refer a new member by May 31st and receive a $100 gift certificate to the Clubhouse.  The $250 new member assessment is wavered until this time.

Also at this time the Board is exploring the possibility of building a new equipment/cart shed. Please contact Joe if you currently do not have a cart shed spot and would have some interest is obtaining a spot if one was available.

Please give us a call if you have any suggestions or questions.  Thank you for everyone’s support and we hope 2009 brings everyone good health and great golf.  Dwight Country Club phone 584-9825, Joe Bloxam, GM, Course Maintenance phone 584-9883, Dennis Buck, Superintendent.  Bruce Bossert, President, Dave Siebert, Vice President, Paul Clausen, Keith Cockerham, Ken Masching, Dick Perschnick, R.D.
